Lactation Consultation  – Home visits

I have a lifelong passion for everything having to do with birth, newborns and the formation of a new family. For more than 20 years I have explored this wonderful field professionally: from practicing as a doctor in a NICU in my native Germany, to internships with a homebirth midwife, a holistic obstetric clinic, and a baby friendly hospital, and  researching and writing my thesis about “Kangaroo care for prematurely born infants” (Skin to Skin contact).  My interest in helping prematurely born infants and their families led me to Boston and learn ”Individualized Developmental Care of Prematurely Born Infants”, and become certified as a NIDCAP Trainer for health professionals working in this field. I have supported prematurely born infants and their parents during NICU stays and in their homes. After spending some time at home with my two boys, my professional journey continued with working as a ‘Birthing From Within’ Childbirth educator, a doula, facilitating mother support groups, and now working as a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Lactation Consultant in private practice.
